Since Pakistan has won the T20I series against New Zealand as well, now it may alternations in its squad for third & final T20I and let left-arm fast-medium Waqas Maqsood to make his T20I debut on his birthday.
The 31-year-old Faisalabad-born Waqas Maqsood has picked up 20 wickets in his 19 domestic T20 matches with a bowling average of 23.20 and 6.58 as economy rate.
The third T20I between Pakistan and New Zealand to be held on Sunday (today) at Dubai also offers Babar Azam a very special moment.
Babar Azam needs just 48 runs to reach a milestone of 1000 runs in least T20Is. He has so far scored 952 runs in 25 T20Is innings. If he scores at least 48 runs today in his 26th innings, he will beat the record of India’s Virat Kohli who achieved the landmark in his 27 innings.
Likewise if Pakistan beats New Zealand in third T20I as will, it would be its 9th consecutive T20I victory. Earlier in both T20Is, Pakistan defeated New Zealand in thrilling contests.
In the second T20I at Dubai, Pakistan, unlike the previous few games, had to bat second and score 154 runs to win the match. On the other hand, it was New Zealand’s 5th Consecutive defeats in T20 Internationals. In 2018, New Zealand has so far played 12 T20Is. Out of them, New Zealand won only three matches and lost eight while one match against West Indies ended with no result.
