Following story was posted prior to the beginning of second ODI between Pakistan and Zimbabwe at Bulawayo on July 16, 2018.
Zimbabwe has decided to bat after winning the toss in the second One Day International (ODI) against Pakistan at the Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo on Monday.
It was Pakistan’s overall 48th victory over Zimbabwe in ODIs when the former earned an easy 107-run win in the first ODI.
Not only Pakistan led the five-match ODI series 1-0 in Bulawayo but they also tasted the first victory in 2018 as in previous five ODIs played this year, they merely suffered losses.
As anticipated, Pakistan didn’t succumb to pressure in any stage of the game against Zimbabwe in the first ODI, and put a huge total of 308 runs for 7 while batting first.
Imam-ul-Haq – who had previously hit a Century in his debut ODI against Sri Lanka in October 2017 – scored his second Century against Zimbabwe. Imam-ul-Haq scored 128 runs off 134 balls with a strike rate (SR) of 95.52.

His partner Fakhar Zaman also upheld his brilliant form with the bat, and scored 60 runs. Rest of the batsmen including Babar Azam scored 30 runs, Shoaib Malik 22, Asif Ali 46, Faheem Ashraf 0, Sarfraz Ahmed 13, Hasan Ali 0 and Shadab Khan 2.
For Zimbabwe, Tendai Chatara and Donald Tiripano picked up 2 wickets each whereas Blessing Muzarabani, Liam Roche and Wellington Masakadza also took 1 wicket each.
While batting, only Chamu Chibhabha, Tarisai Musakanda and Ryan Murray remained the prominent batsmen for Zimbabwe as they scored 20, 21, 32 runs respectively. From Pakistan, Shadab Khan was the most successful bowler with 4 wickets while Usman Khan and Faheem Ashraf grabbed 2 each, and Muhammad Amir and Hasan Ali 1 each.
