Second ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand will begin at 06:00 am PST
NAPIER, New Zealand: Pakistan needs to lift up its performance for the second game on Thursday if it has to keep the bilateral series against New Zealand alive after losing the first one day international (ODI).
The second match of the three-match ODI series will be played at the McLean Park in Napier on January 28 (Thursday).
The recent performance of Pakistani bowlers has not been upto the mark which was once hallmark of Pakistani Cricket. It was again witnessed on January 25 when New Zealand managed to score 280 runs in stipulated 50 overs despite losing 6 wickets for only 99.
In reply, Pakistan was all out for 210 in 46 overs. Babar Azam scored 62 runs before he got out by Corey Anderson. Other players except Muhammad Hafeez and Sarfraz Ahmed to some extent, did not look convincing at all.
It is likely that Shoaib Malik will replace Sohaib Maqsood in the second ODI. The experienced batsman was left out of first ODI squad due to injury.
Pakistan second ODI squad (probable)
Azhar Ali (Captain), Ahmed Shehzad, Muhammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Muhammad Rizwan, Sarfraz Ahmed (Wicket Keeper), Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz, Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Irfan
New Zealand second ODI squad (probable)
Tom Latham, Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson (Captain), Henry Nicholls, Grant Elliott, Corey Anderson, BJ Watling (Wicket Keeper), Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Matt Henry, Trent Boult
The third and last ODI between the two teams will be played on January 31 at the Eden Park in Auckland.
