QUETTA: Unidentified gunmen opened fire at Liaquat Bazaar in Quetta on Saturday, injuring at least seven people amid shutter-down strike being observed by Ahle-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) against Nawa Killi operation across the city, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Two suspected militants were killed and four others were injured when security forces raided Nawa Killi area of Quetta on Friday. The ASWJ staged a sit-in against the operation and called for a shutter-down strike.

In Quetta, all small and major markets located on Prince Road, Jinnah Road, Saryab Road, Nawa Killi, Zarghoon Road and Barori Road are lying closed. Traffic is also below normal in the city.

Paramilitary frontier corps and police have been stationed at different places in the city.
