MANILA, Philippines: The United States and Philippine military have begun joint annual war games dubbed “Phiblex” on Monday for the purpose of testing the two countries’ readiness to respond to emergencies.
Nearly 5,000 American and Filipino troops are participating in the 11-day annual military exercises in the Western Palawan Island of Philippines .
The officials said that the joint air and marine exercises focus on maritime security and territorial defense operations.
