ISTANBUL, Turkey: At least 24 persons were killed while seven were rescued when a boat sank off the north coast of Istanbul on Monday.
The reports said that the boat was traveling through the Bosphorus Strait on its way to Romania from Istanbul when it sank.
The boat was carrying 42 Afghan illegal migrants including 12 children and seven women, according to the Hurriyet news website.
It was not immediately clear what caused the boat to sink.
