Pre-Matches Story!
As the PSL 2018 enters its second day on Friday; two more T20s are around the corner; first between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators followed by the second battle between Lahore Qalandars and last night winner Multan Sultans.
Both the matches will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
With a new Captain Imad Wasim and Shahid Afridi as new entrant in the Side, Karachi Kings are hopeful to prove their true potential this year.
In both previous PSL editions, Karachi Kings just reached Play-Offs Stage, and have so far failed to make an impact. With a 36.84% winning average, Karachi Kings suffered 12 defeats in 19 matches, they were involved in.
For PSL third edition, the Franchise management brought in Shahid Afridi who along with Eoin Morgan, Babar Azam, Muhammad Amir, Rabi Bhopara, Colin Ingram, Joe Denly and Tymal Mills makes Karachi Kings much more competitive and threatening Team.
However, Karachi Kings would have to perform up to the mark if they really hope of something big as they first battle is against Quetta Gladiators – the most successful PSL team as far as winning percentage is concerned.
Having 63.15% winning percentage, Quetta Gladiators played both Finals of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) previous editions but they unfortunately were unable to secure the title each time.
Star-studded Quetta Gladiators have services of Kevin Pietersen, Shane Watson, Carlos Brathwaite, Rillee Rossouw, Jason Roy and Sarfraz Ahmed.
In today’s second T20, Brendon Mccullum-led Lahore Qalandars will take on Multan Sultans.
Like Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars haven’t yet shined as well in PSL as out of their 16 T20s in the league, they just won 5.
Earlier last night, Multan Sultans thrashed Peshawar Zalmi by 7 wickets in the first match of HBL PSL 2018 in Dubai.
While bating first, Peshawar Zalmi scored 151 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Multan Sultans achieved the target in 19.1 overs.
Kumar Sangakkara of Multan Sultans was declared player of the match for scoring scored 57 runs.
