BHUBANESWAR, India: Pakistan and Germany will play the final of the eight-nation Hero Hockey Champions Trophy in Bhubaneswar, the capital of the Indian state of Odisha, on Sunday.
The match will start at 7:00 pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
Pakistan will play the final of the Hockey Champions Trophy after 1998 when they lost to Netherlands in the final of the men’s major hockey event in Lahore.
The host nation India will face world champions Australia in the Bronze medal match.
In the first semifinal of the tournament played in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, Olympic gold medalists Germany beat world champions Australia by 3-2 whereas Pakistan beat arch-rival India by 4-3 in a thrilling seminal final and qualified for the final of the Hero Hockey Champions Trophy.
With Saturday’s victory, Pakistan maintained their 100 per cent record of never losing to India in the Champions Trophy.
There are eight prominent teams from across the world including Pakistan, India, Australia, Germany, Netherlands, England, Argentine and Belgium which took part in the 35th edition of the hockey champions trophy.
The tournament began on December 6.
