LONDON: Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II left hospital on Monday a days after having been admitted for the first time in a decade after suffering from the symptoms of gastroenteritis.
The 86-year-old monarch was taken to King Edward VIII Hospital in central London “as a precautionary measure” on Sunday afternoon and was expected to stay there for two days, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said.
The Queen had already called off a planned vist to Wales on Saturday after showing symptoms of the illness, Buckingham Palace said. All official engagements this week would be postponed or canceled.
