JOHANNESBURG: South Africa defeated Pakistan by 211 runs in the first Test match at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg on Monday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported. South Africa lead the 3-match series 1-0.
Pakistan were all out for 268 in 100.4 overs in the second inning after being set to make an improbable 480 to win. Dale Steyn was again the chief-destroyer, taking 5 wickets, taking his overall wicket tally to 11.
In the first inning, Pakistan were bundled out for just 49 runs in reply to South Africa’s first inning total of 253. South Africa made 275/3 in their second inning, taking the lead to 479.
